Stampy's Lovely World
Ported to Java!

We're porting the final version of Stampy's Lovely World to Java.

You'll need at least version 1.21 to play it.

Why do this?

We were super excited when Stampy's Lovely World released on the Minecraft Marketplace. But we were a little annoyed that us Java players don't have a version we can play on that is the same as the version found on the Minecraft Marketplace. There were many changes done to the world before release and we want to enjoy those changes too.

So, after much work, we have recreated the official SLW release to the Java version of Minecraft. Enjoy!

How do I install it?

Download instructions:

  1. Download "(Java, 1.21) Stampy's Lovely World.zip" from here.

  2. Unzip the file and drag the "Stampy's Lovely World" folder into your Minecraft Saves folder.

    1. If you're on Windows, this is usually "C:\Users\[YourName]\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\saves".

    2. If you're on Linux, it will depend on how you have Minecraft installed. GDLauncher works best in my opinion. Right click the Minecraft instance and select "Open folder".

    3. If you're on Mac, you'll need to find it out on your own as I have no idea how Apple stuff works lol

  3. Open Minecraft (Making sure it's version 1.21.1 or higher for best results) and enter the world!

What version of Minecraft do I need?

The world was converted and recreated in Minecraft Java Edition, 1.21. So that's what we recommend.

It may still work in older versions of the game, and you're free to try that. Theoretically it should work in 1.20 with no issues, but be warned that some blocks may be missing and some animals may not appear.

Is it totally functional?

No, but it's mostly functional (excluding minigames from the funland... those have been through so many different versions, some are fundamentally broken now) but aside from a few smaller glitches like Maps not appearing in item frames, we should be mostly okay at this point. A lot of these things are due to differences in game code. Item frames are classed as entities in Java, but blocks in Bedrock. Animal owners don't convert 100% correctly. So it's not perfect. But it is as authentic as anyone has gotten so far.

When we have time, we will try our best to get all of those minor things sorted. Just keep in mind that this is a total conversion and may not behave as seamlessly as on Bedrock, where it was tried and tested by a licensed company. We're a small team of fans trying to make this work.

What issues are known?

We know of plenty of problems. Again, this is a conversion. So it isn't going to be flawless. But we're slowly working on issues we know about.

  • Maps are totally broken. These need to be re-made. The large map at the start has been fixed but we need to examine more of the world to see if any other maps exist that are also broken.

  • Repeaters are all flipped. This is again something that we're working on slowly but it will take time to flip all repeaters in the world.
