A somewhat brief Intro
My name is Mitchi. I'm an autistic music producer living in the UK. Pretty standard geek, as much as I hate stereotyping. I like computers and enjoy almost anything technology related. I have Asperger's Syndrome (a form of autism) which means I take things literally, and my brain works very differently to somebody not on the spectrum. My biggest passion is unclear as of yet, but I enjoy creative work. This includes books, and, of course, music.
My hatred for popcorn
I have to avoid the movies because of this one. Everyone loves popcorn, except for me apparently. The sweet smell of popcorn is more than enough to trip my gag-reflex very violently. I discovered this when I was a small child at my childminders' after school. My best friend at the time was watching Scooby-Doo while eating popcorn. I didn't really like the TV show as it seemed too crude for my liking, but the smell in the room had my eyes watering and I had a sudden urge to vomit. To this day, I never figured out why it was a problem!
I have a very irrational fear of any sort of destruction or deformation
The best example of this is when people smash things unnecessarily. You know when rockstars smash their instruments live on stage? Or when annoyed office workers break their computers? That kind of thing causes my hairs to stand on end and I get very on-edge. The weird thing about this is the exceptions I've discovered. I used to absolutely hate Robot Wars. (The UK TV show) But now, Robot Wars is among my favourite TV shows of all time, and inspired me to start engineering!
I once survived whooping cough with no medical help
It's a very painful and serious infection that essentially causes you to vomit up your insides, become unable to breathe, and even break ribs due to coughing so hard. I had symptoms of it before we even left for our holiday in Wales in 2013. We didn't even know I had it until we got back. My brother and I were playing Minecraft on the Playstation3. Mum came into my room to put some laundry away and casually told me that I almost died.
I am a huge fan of My Little Pony. (Best pony = Fluttershy)
I actually was introduced to the show by a friend who reluctantly revealed his pony side to me, clearly nervous about my reaction. I had no opinion on the show at the time but pretended to be a fan nonetheless. (I recall saying "I like the rainbow one"... it was dumb luck that there is literally a rainbow one in the show!)
On an upcoming sleepover, he asked if I'd be interested in watching the new MLP episode with him. I agreed, and thus S02, EO7 became the episode that transformed me.
Cameras make me calm
It wouldn't be inaccurate to say I have a camera obsession. Having as much of my life on video keeps me calm. I really don't have any reasons for this. I'm sure some psychologist can explain it. If I had to guess, I'd say it's something to do with having proof that things happened. Even when it really needs no proof.
It's also just fun to look back, a few years later, on footage and smile about simpler times.
